An action packed season
Over the last couple of months David Reynolds has been busy beavering away to get this year's Fantasy Cricket up and running. Big thanks also go to Mark Reynolds for getting the Fantasy Cricket competition going on this website.
2004's competition finally went live at the beginning of April and the first team entries have already started to come in!
Fantasy Cricket Basics
If you're one of the 70 that entered a team into last year's competition then you'll be familiar with how it all works. There have been a few minor tweaks to the competition this year, but the basics remain the same. All you have to do is enter an 11-man team selected from the list of club league players provided and their performances in each game will be awarded points.
The Manager of the Fantasy Cricket team that accrues the most points at the conclusion of the tournament will be the winner of the Competition.
Fantasy Cricket Improvements
Making this year's goings on more interesting is the addition of the new Manager of the Month Award, and the introduction of the club 4th team to Saturday league cricket which means more players to choose from and more tactics to consider.
This season promises lots
Last year's competition was a roaring success with over 70 teams entered and over £200 raised for the Club and we're hoping for more team entries this year. Whether we achieve that or not depends on whether people enter more than one team and whether any non-playing members or non-members get involved. So remember, the competition is open to anyone and you can enter as many teams as you like; the more teams you have, the more likely you are to walk off with a cash prize!
Get your teams in!
Team entries have to be in no later than 9pm on the 2nd of May and the competition starts in earnest with the cricket being played the following Saturday. So get your skates on, do your homework and get your entries in!
