Many have said it was probably the best weekend they had ever had at Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, enjoyment levels were near maximum and smiles were wide, very wide!!! It was amazing!!!

On Saturday the 1st XI were promoted as champions which opened the way for mass celebrations for the firsts who had an early finish to their game, Champagne, lager, beer, cider, champagne, champagne etc etc. They were then joined by the 2nd, 3rds and 4ths a bit later on...lager, beer, cider etc.

It was a brilliant night for the many that joined in and everyone could say that they were glad to be a part of Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, where enjoyment exists in equal measures on and off the pitch. It does I tell ya, it really does!!

For those bodies that stayed into the very late morning....(and there were quite a few!) the realisation that they had to meet at 11:30am Sunday morning to take part in the CSCC Twenty20 tournament didn't really register.

The Twenty20 tournament was amazing and it was finally won by a quality South Africa against lowly Australia. The nerves werre flying around as the cricketers tried to entertain the hoards of supporters.

Throughout the day the troops were entertained by some great commentary by Jay 'Bumble' Rendell, Ian 'Holding' Hobbs and Rob 'Douglas - Richie' Fowler. There were many chuckles bouncing off each other and there was even time for a visit from Julian Clary....who managed to slot a few double entendres home.

It didn't end there though because after the match the Monkey Dolls, a trio from Swindon, entertained over 120 people with some quality tunes from their band. It was certainly a very entertaining evening.

Another late night followed and there were air guitaroffs going on late late late into the night. Jim had a cricket ball on his head, the kitchen sink had Swat's head on it and there were a few more bad heads in the morning.

CSCC 2007 immense.

CSCC 2008 hopefully even more immenserer!!
