And the Bristol crowd goes wild!!
Last Sunday (7th August) heralded the end of what was one of the greatest test matches ever and set the Ashes series well and truly alight.
Whether you were at the ground or whether you saw it on TV, you would have been very nervous. Some people couldn't even watch. It had to be one of life's greatest sporting events.
The Third Test
The 3rd test is just round the corner and will begin at Old Trafford, Manchester on Thursday (11th August 2005). That test match may be a bit harder to get to for us Chipping Sodburyonians compared to the short trip to Edgbaston, however the ECB have come to our rescue.
Bristol Cricket in the Park
The ECB have brought us Cricket in the Park. You may have seen the posters dotted round the cricket club. It's your chance to get some atmosphere and support the England team. It takes place in Queen Square, Bristol on Friday 12th August and Saturday 13th August. It will be the only official ECB event in the world so get yourself down there!
Entry to the event is completely free, and will offer you a Test match atmosphere without having to be at the ground, with big screens for fans to watch all the action on.
There will be opportunities as well to take part in different cricket games and activities, the big screen events will offer the ideal setting to watch the contest unfold.
How fast!!??
You’ll also be able to experience what it’s like to face a 90-mile-per-hour ball in a unique audio-visual experience and test your catching skills at one of the ECB Cricket Roadshows.
There’ll also be BBQs and licensed bars to make Cricket in the Park THE perfect place to watch the Test for the English and Aussies alike.
And with the news that Brett Lee is at the time of writing a doubt for the test, you may get a chance to see Merv Hughes come out of retirement.
Friday in Bristol is the Day
Obviously it's best to look at watching the Friday more because you'll probably be playing for Chipping Sodbury CC on the saturday won't you!!
