Bristol Relay For Life In Yate - 3rd/4th July

I am part of the organising committee for this year’s Bristol Relay for Life, which is happening in Yate, on the 3rd/4th July.
Relay for life is a 24 hour community based team event with the purpose of raising funds for Cancer research UK. It is a really fun event where people of all ages and levels of fitness can form a team and enter the relay.
All you have to do is keep one member of the team on the track at all times, obviously swapping in and out as you would in a relay. Members can walk, skip hop or even jog or run if they so wish, there are no rules on that, as long as one person from the team is doing something on the track!
My reason for contacting you, is that we are obviously trying to publicise this event, and encourage groups to enter a team. Teams can be between 8-15 people. Teams can camp out overnight at the event, and can bbq in their camps in the evening if they wish.
There is a lot of entertainment planned throughout the time, with live music, kids playbus, themed laps, hog roast and much more. Real party atmosphere is created.
Relay starts with a survivors lap, where anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis is invited to join in. At dusk there is also a candle of hope ceremony, where candles that have been dedicated in celebration or memory are lit and a minutes silence is observed.
Things then turn more up beat again, and the party continues throughout the night!
More information on relay can be found on

If you are interested in joining this really fun event and want any more information then please feel free to drop me an email (craddock-h@sky.com) or give me a ring on 07717 137587. Or if any members would like to dedicate candles then please get in touch or follow instructions from web address above.
We are also holing a raffle, for which we are seeking some lovely prizes, and would be grateful if you felt able to support us in anyway with this.
Many thanks for your time
