Chipping Sodbury 1st XI Gain Promotion As Champions!!!

On Saturday afternoon at around 3pm the moment that we had all been hoping would happen...happened. With Long Ashton's Shaun Tanner on strike, Daniel Clarke came bounding in and Tanner edged to Crabtree behind the stumps. Long Ashton were 93 all out and that was the bonus point the 1st XI needed. Chipping Sodbury 1st XI were officially champions of the Bristol & District Senior Division and promoted!!!
Things were not actually that straight forward for Sodbury's chase and they too struggled slightly and ended on 95-7. Nevertheless all points were in the bag and that was the cue for mass celebration.
Champagne was produced from all corners of the globe by players and supporters, it was a special moment for those who had worked so hard to finally achieve this goal. WELL DONE THE BOYS!!!
Chipping Sodbury v Long Ashton Scorecard
Both CSCC's 1st and 2nd XI will next year play in the West of England Premier Cricket League, more specifically the 1sts will play in the Bristol and North Somerset Division.

By the way the 1st XI still has one match left, so if you fancy seeing the champions in action then come along to Blagdon Cricket Club this Saturday. They will be striving to make it a victory and go up with only the one loss.
