Shieldsy, Philpott and Poole
Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club's aim of equipping their coaches to provide enjoyable and high quality training to the youngsters of Yate and Sodbury has taken another step forward. During the past couple of weeks 3 players and parents from CSCC have been attending the ECB Level 1 coaching course at Castle School, Thornbury and the club is delighted to announce that all three have passed.
CSCC Chairman and 4th XI skipper Andy Shield and parents Neil Philpott and Steve Poole all gained a large amount from the course en route to becoming qualified coaches. Particular congratulations should go to Steve who has had very little past cricketing experience "I think it was a bit easier for me because I didn't have any bad habits to get out of my system!" said Steve.
It's not an easy course on the body as the staff coaches take you through various demonstrations which seem to involve working every muscle from head to toe. All three should be commended on the achievement and hopefully on what they will bring to the children and other players at the club.
Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club invested over £250 in equipping the 3 coaches with the necessary skills to deliver high quality coaching programmes and enjoyment. The club is keen to continue its investment in coaching and is actively welcoming members and parents to show their interest in coaching at CSCC.
