England Win Series 2-1

The Ashes Urn

Well it's been an absolutely amazing Ashes series and for anyone involved in the game of cricket, this is what we've been waiting for for years.

The day before the final 2005 Ashes test at the Oval contained a build up like no other. We have never seen or heard the word cricket mentioned so many times in one day, on TV, Radio and in print. It was a magical build up in what has been a magical series.

Appearance on BBC Points West

And in the West we were in the thick of it. The evening before the first day of the fifth Test saw Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club appear on BBC Points West. All day on that Wednesday the club appeared on bulletins/reports focusing on how cricket will grasp the interest shown by the nation in this Ashes series.

Now the Ashes are over and it is time to celebrate. Today sees an England open top bus parade which will end in Trafalgar Square. Both the England mens and womens cricket teams will be there, including England's Womens Cricket Captain Clare Connor, who we interviewed earlier in the season.

This is a great time for English Cricket, lap it up!!
