Clive Gives Update On New Pavilion And The Grounds

UPDATE ON NEW PAVILION FROM CLIVE REYNOLDS
Work has stopped on the second pavilion over the Christmas/New Year period but it is hoped that work will start again soon. I have been in contact with various persons/firms to arrange for work to be carried out
So what's happening?
- Ian Hobbs has agreed to connect the water supply
- Clive, The Ridings groundsman, will help us re-route the water and electrical supply pipes; we might also need members to help out with this
- I have been in contact with our electrical contractors to ascertain the exact position of switches and sockets so that we can soon fix the wall boards and complete the ceiling
- I have put a bid in through the NatWest CricketForce website for 48 sheets of plasterboard, free from the BuildCentre if we are lucky
- I have obtained quotes for the showers and kitchen
- I have been in contact with S.Glocs council to try to arrange for young offenders to do their community service with us - a potential source of free labour which will hopefully help us, S.Glocs and the offenders by doing meaningful work
All in all, things are beginning to fall into place. I hope that the building will be complete by mid April.
Pre-season work on squares
Soon pre-season work will be required on the squares. I have arranged with the Golf Club to sharpen our mowers over the next month.

Thanks to Steve Febry who is spending a lot of time on the squares and cutting the hedges. Also to Jay P for arranging to get the tiling completed, well almost, in the kitchen and the doors fitted.
NatWest CricketForce weekend
The NatWest CricketForce weekend is April 4th/5th so please be ready to spend some time with us over that weekend but we will not be able to complete all tasks then. Please volunteer whenever asked over the coming months so that we can be fully prepared for the 2009 season.
