Exciting Year Of Ladies Cricket Starts At Sodbury With Pre-season Nets

Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club in Bristol is 150 Years Old this year!


Building on the success of the 2006 inaugural league season of Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club's Women's XI, pre-season practice will commence on Saturday January 27th at 2pm at King Edmund School, Sundridge Park, Yate.

Each session will last 2 hours. Former England player Jan Godman will be running some of the coaching sessions in conjunction with Local Community Coach - Gary Worgan, qualified coaches from Chipping Sodbury will also assist.

Players of all ages and abilities are invited to attend.

It an objective of The Club to establish an Under 15/16 side in 2007 in addition to The Senior Team.

Gary Worgan with the assistance of Club Members is organising after school clubs and taster sessions at Chipping Sodbury, King Edmund and Brimsham Schools initially. This being a basic introduction to the game of cricket and will provide the foundation for the establishment of the Under 15/16 team at Chipping Sodbury. Young Ladies who attend other schools or live in the Bristol/South Gloucestershire area and are interested in playing Women's Cricket at any level are most welcome to attend the sessions at King Edmund School.
