All Youth Player Parents Called To Attend Meeting
Article Date: 11th January 2008
Calling all Youth Player parents & Senior Players
Club Meeting to be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday 24th January 2008 commencing at 7.30pm.
This is an important meeting for ALL senior players and Parents of youth players.
The Management Committee has considered it essential to inform the membership of the plans for the immediate future and to receive comments and suggestions from the membership.
Much work has been going on behind the scenes during the winter months and, now that the playing season is not that far away, it is essential that we are prepared to carry out the work as soon as the weather permits.
As you are aware the two cricket pitches will be used for the majority of our home games and more accommodation for players, officials and supporters is needed.
To achieve this, two projects are in progress:
1) To build a small pavilion alongside the new pitch and 2) To improve the internal appearance of the existing pavilion to meet the expected demands.
We hope to receive planning permission for the new pavilion in mid February. The building of the pavilion should start in March when:
a) A concrete base must be laid. b) The prefabricated structure must be assembled. c) Water and electrical supplies connected. d) Furniture, lighting and heating fitted. e) Waste disposal installed.
The demands on the existing pavilion will change with possibly 44 players gathering after matches.
A new face for the Pavilion?
However, is the appearance of the pavilion attractive to younger age groups and families as well as senior players? Could it be improved with a small financial outlay? (We don’t want to spend too much as next year we will be moving toward a new structure on the present site.)
In addition to these two projects, pre-season ground work and tidying up needs to be carried out. Before the end of March a hedge will be planted to define the area of each of the pitches.
You have an opportunity for your children's future. Use it.
At the meeting the full details of the projects will be explained and YOU will have the opportunity to express your ideas.
We are proud to be managing a thriving cricket club and want to provide a legacy of which future generations will be proud, so please support us by:
* Attending the meeting. * Volunteering to help in any way. * Suggesting ways in which we can improve our resources.
Hope to see you very soon
