Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club Celebrates NatWest CricketForce Success

A MASSIVE thanks to all those who turned up to help at Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club's NatWest CricketForce weekend, you know who you are!
The 2 days were full of activity and all those who took part can rest assured that they've done the club a huge favour. Well done everyone!
One of the continuing jobs over the weekend was the stripping of the 'new' old sightscreens. With some elbow grease and machinery they turned out pretty paintless in the end, which was good to see.
Come the season a bit of a change will be noticed in the home team changing room. After a weekend that has seen Clive Reynolds sawing away and managing the seating project, we have seen the last of the home team seating that has been there for around 30 years. Well, almost the last.
The wooden seating was dismantled and rebuilt using some new wood. The reason? Well it will provide some new storage for youth coaching/team kit, which will mean that managers will no longer have to drive around with the team kit permanently in their boot. It means that everyone who should have access to the kit, does. And it also means the Reynolds household will have a lot more room in it!!
Meanwhile Jeff, who has been working at CSCC this year long before the NatWest CricketForce weekend came along, was managing the building of a ball stopping fence. It will be a joy to watch it in action, I'm sure you'll notice it around!
And another group put in some great effort to erect the mobile net. What a job that was (as I looked on!).
Whilst loads of other jobs were completed, and some quality people sat on the roller on the second pitch, and players from the women's team made some great bacon butties and cleaned the kitchen!!.....the sun shone....it were a great weekend!
NatWest CricketForce: The Aftermath
Although a lot was done over the weekend, there was a lot which couldn't be finished off. The plan is to hold 2 more work days before our first match (a Sunday league game) which is unbelievably only one and a half weeks away!!!!! Yes, you heard me.
These 2 days are this Saturday (7th April) and next Saturday (14th April), both days starting at 10am. Please come and help, we need everyone!!
There is still some really important work to be done, including finishing off the youth kit storage, the ball stoppers, the sightscreens, outdoor nets and rolling.....it'd be great to see you!
