Training Update From Youth Coach As He Trains For John O Groats Journey
Article Date: 1st April 2010
"Well after a pretty good month of hard training in March my body has decided enough is enough. Having got back close to peak fitness (well for me anyway) I've now been laid low with Tonsilitis, no training permitted for a whole week! After 5-6 days per week training since Christmas that already seems like an eternity. Still, the rest will probably do me good."
"Fundraising is moving more slowly, although I recently managed to raise about £100 through yard and car boot sales, and now need about another £80 in the next 2 weeks to hit my first target of £700 to enable me to continue my involvement with the event. The main target of £2,000 still seems like an awfully long way off!"
Why am I doing this?
"To raise awareness of another race against time - that to reduce the alarming rate of HIV-AIDS infection in South Africa, and to raise funds for the Bishop Simeon Trust, who help the victims and their families cope with the appalling consequences."
"If you're able to help please visit my webpage http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SimonCox and pledge what you can to help those suffering the ravages of the disease and its devastating consequences."
