The Sodbury Sixes - All you need to know!

Our 150th Anniversary Cricket Week will begin with a MASSIVE BANG!! with our first cricketing event, the resurrection of the famous CSCC Six-a-side Tournament.

Come and have a great day out at the Sixes, here's all you need to know...

1.00 pm Tormarton v Sodbury Sloggers 1.00 pm Frampton Cotterell v Frenchay
2.00 pm Chipping Sodbury v Twyford House 2.00 pm Chipping Sodbury U21’s v Stroud

Here are the rules for Sunday's Six-a-side tournament to give you a bit more of an idea of what happens during the day.

GENERAL RULES:

  1. Please can you bring 2 used balls as entrance fee.
  2. Please can you register at least 30 mins before your first game.
  3. General Laws of Cricket to apply.
  4. Group winners decided on points, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
  5. In the event of a tie on points the group will be decided by:
    • Total runs scored off the bat.
    • Wickets Taken.
    • Bowl-Off if all are equal.

  6. Every player must have played at least one game prior to the semis.
  7. Maximum 8 players per squad.
  8. Final decision by rules committee.

BOWLING LAWS:

  1. 1 over maximum per person per game.
  2. All balls down leg-side will be called a wide.
  3. Wides will be worth 2 runs.
  4. No-Balls will be worth 4 runs.
  5. There will be no free hits.

BATTING LAWS:

  1. Batting side will receive 5 overs per game.
  2. Last man to bat on until out or overs completed.
  3. There will be no free hits.
  4. 4 = 4 runs.
  5. 6 = 6 runs.

All Final Decisions are made by the rules committee.
