Chipping Sodbury 3rd XI v Lympsham 2nd XI
Chipping Sodbury produced a battling performance to see them claim an amazing third consecutive league title with a game to spare.
In a match reduced to 40 overs per side, Sodbury batted first and struggled early on and they were indebted to a gritty knock from Jim Deane (62) in the middle of the innings. He was well supported by the ever reliable Malcolm Soper (21) to guide Sodbury to 169 for 9.
In reply, Lympsham had no answer to the Sodbury pace attack as John Marler (2 for 35), Rob Long (3 for 11) and Soper (2 for 11) blew the top order away. In fitting fashion, captain Rich Deane finished proceedings with 2 for 6 to bowl the home side out for 100 all out and leave Sodbury winners by 69 runs and league champions again!!
