Chipping Sodbury 3rd XI v St George/Roman Glass 2nd XI
Sodbury 3rd team won an amazing third promotion in a row with a convincing 111 run over St George/Roman Glass.
Sodbury batted first and scored 231 for 6 from their 45 overs with all the batsmen contributing. Chris Young (43) and Harry Webb (31) set Sodbury on their way putting on 74 for the first wicket before Matt Webb (39), Aide Forrester (23 not out) and the rejuvenated Jim Deane (50 not out) leading Sodbury to their commanding total.
St George had no answer to the Sodbury attack and after losing early wickets it was left to the evergreen Tony Garton to spin Sodbury to victory taking 4 for 22 including a hat trick to finish the game.
All credit must go to captain Rich Deane and his team for another fantastic season. Next year should be an interesting one, with the thirds playing for the first time in the league below Chipping Sodbury's second XI.
