Sodbury 2nds Enjoy Victory Over Nailsea
Article Date: 30th June 2008
CSCC 2nd XI beat Nailsea 2nd XI by 59 runs
Sodbury lost the toss again and were put in on what looked a solid track. Although they lost 2 early wickets, Long (66) and Crabtree (61) both pulled off crucial and strong innings. Then some lack of timing and quick running from Reynolds (27) and a quick blitz from Sprackman got the team to 212 for 7 from their 45 overs.
In reply Nailsea finished a distance short and although they threatened they always seemed to be 20 or so runs off the mark. This increased in the later stages as they finished 153 all out with Mark Graham strangling 5 of the last 6 batsmen to end with 5.4o 0m 20r 5w. Note should also be given to a great bit of opening bowling by Penfold who finished with 9o 2m 17r 1w.
CSCC 3s
Sodbury's 3rd XI pulled off a great victory against Pheonix 2nd XI with Andy Neale smacking a brilliant ton. CSCC ended on 251 for 9. In reply the Windies could only manage 213 for 9. A great result to retain the top of the table place.
