Sodbury's Jack Townsend Stars For Bristol Youth Cricket League

Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club in Bristol is 150 Years Old this year!


Bristol Youth League began the Under-11 Gloucester Festival with a 19-run triumph over Gloucester. Bristol's best batsman were Winterbourne duo James Taverner (41) and Chris Kislingbury (33 not out) plus Chipping Sodbury's Jack Townsend, who scored 33.

The next day they beat Stroud by 56 runs with Winterbourne's George Ford hitting a top-score of 47 not out to guide them home.

The Under-11s completed their third successive victory, a 55-run success over Cheltenham, with Townsend starring with bat and ball by taking three wickets and making an unbeaten 57.

The in-form side then achieved the clean sweep with a mammoth 108-run victory over Cirencester with Twyford House's Dominic Blake blasting an impressive 56 not out.
