Men's Cricket 2008
Senior Cricket
In 2008 the Saturday 1st and 2nd XIs will be playing in the West of England Premier Cricket League. More specifically the Bristol and North Somerset Division.
With 4 senior teams playing league cricket on Saturdays and 2 league senior teams playing league cricket on Sundays - Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club maintains a great deal of choice for cricketers of all standards.
Many people in Yate and Chipping Sodbury are having an enjoyable and rewarding time on the pitch at Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club with success and challenges ahead. And while the cricket is played intensely, the social scene is ideal for letting the hair down during most evenings at CSCC. Get involved and phone Club Secretary Clive Reynolds on 01454 314147.

Saturday 1st XI
After a fantastic season in 2007 with many top performances throughout the squad, the 1st XI under the captaincy of Jamie Rendell were promoted to the West of England Premier League (WEPL), more specifically the Bristol and North Somerset Division. The club is already looking forward to the new challenges that 2008 will hold as CSCC moves onwards.
Saturday 2nd XI
In 2008 Chipping Sodbury's Saturday 2nd XI follow the 1sts into the West of England Premier League. Hosting a collection of cricketers fighting to make it into the 1st XI.
Saturday 3rd XI
After a string of promotions, Sodbury's 3rd XI captained by Richard Deane, found their feet in Division One of the Bristol and District Cricket 2nd XI League. A superb run of promotions will now hopefully see them settle in this league, develop and push for promotion once again.
Saturday 4th XI
After a very good season in 2007, the 4th XI continue their cricket in 2008 in the Bristol & District 'A' XI Division One league.
This team will play a crucial role in the future as Sodbury's youth get their first taste of senior league cricket. Good luck to the 4th XI in 2008 as they continue on their way.
Sunday Cricket
Sundays provide the perfect opportunity for Sodbury to play the teams that we don't get around to playing on Saturdays. This usually involves traveling to some excellent grounds throughout Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
Sunday 1st XI
The Sunday 1st XI is the perfect opportunity for some of the youth team players at Sodbury to get a taste of cricket at a high level. In 2007 Jamie Wakefield took over the captaincy from Rich Bennett. In 2008 the 1st XI will be playing league cricket which in 2007 saw a positive change for the club and they made it to the final against Rockhampton.
Sunday 2nd XI
In 2008 the Sunday 2nd XI will continue playing league cricket in the Malmesbury village league. The Sunday 2nd XI provides a great opportunity to the youngsters of the club, and a great introduction to a longer form of the game.
We hope that our adult members will support our youth team matches as frequently as possible and also help with some coaching.
Support from you guys can never be underestimated, and I'm sure you would have all felt honoured if an adult player came to watch you, when you were a young cricketer.
